HISTORY

The founding family has its roots in Risör, a small town in the south of Norway where, since the late XVIII century a long and uninterrupted tradition with the sea began, through several generations of captains, ship-owners, sea and business men.

In Uruguay, the business tradition was founded by T.J. Schandy, who initiated a one-person activity as shipping agent on April 1, 1948. The company developed with great strength regionally and its association with ULTRAMAR in 2007, one of the leading business groups of Latin America, added experience and multiplied the investment capacity in innovation and development.

In 2018 Ultramar assumed total ownership of the group, to project it into the future with the necessary strength to ensure sustainability and growth.

Nodus is today a dynamic business group managed by Uruguayan professionals, in constant growth and development, at the forefront of maritime, port and logistics activities throughout the region.
