Urutug was created with the purpose of providing tug services in Uruguayan ports.

Urutug flagged its first tug, “Punta Gorda ” in December 2011. In July 2012 the “Punta Brava” tug arrived, and a little over than a year later, on October 4, 2013, the “Punta Sayago ” tug arrived, thus evidencing a sustained growth of the port logistic development. The three tugs are equipped with the best available technology in the country for tug and assistance services.

Urutug performs its trainings in Humboldt Marine Training, with simulators and cutting-edge implements.

All Humboldt operations are performed under the Safety Management System policies, as set forth by the International Maritime Organization, according to the ISM Code. The system has been developed to guarantee and maintain safety on board, preventing and minimizing accidents and damage to the environment, in compliance with ABS certification under international safety management, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004.

Remolcadores Ultratug, company incorporated in Chile, has more than 45 years of experience in harbor towage, rescue operations and off shore activities. It currently operates in seven South American countries and has more than 50 tugs and a high speed off shore and traffic launch boat.

Urutug operates a modern fleet which provides support services for different types of vessels operating in ports and terminals in our country. He has extensive experience in the operation of ASD tugs and was the first company to introduce this technology in the Uruguayan market.
